Special Enrollment Periods

If you have recently moved, or have started to receive low income assistance, or are on Medicaid and Medicare - contact us to see if your special situation allows you to add/change plans throughout the year.  Also, if you have passed age 65 and worked until age 67 or so, that too is a special election to enroll in Medicare and obtain a plan that hopefully has less expensive costs.  Otherwise, the regular open enrollment for Medicare Advantage plans is from October 15- December 7 of each year. Contact us with any questions.

Medicare Changes

Medicare's Part B payment has decreased this year to $164.90 for 2023!  That's a savings of over $5 from last year.  Part B payments have been going up steadily for the last few years, so this is good news for Medicare recipients.  I have been telling people that it's $200, but now I will revise my estimates now that the payment has dropped to $165 - I rounded up.  Don't know how they come up with $.90, instead of making it an even $165, but hey, any savings are welcome.  Hopefully the trend continues for coming years.  Let me know if you have any questions regarding Medicare and how it impacts you and your finances.  Medicare plans change every year, and plans are constantly changing their benefits, monthly amounts, and copays - so it's always a good idea to review your options every year.
